GoPro Housing Service
On a recent dive we noticed some water had leaked into our GoPro housing. The GoPro dive housing is rated to 60m so we should have been ok at just over 55m.
On inspection we could not see any debris on the back door o-ring and not wanting to unnessarily buy a new housing we decided to see if we could do a GoPro Housing Service.
First step was to unscrew the mount, unclip the securing latch and disconnected the flat back door. All very straight forwards.
Now for the tricky bit, taking a screwdriver we opened and removed the circlips from each of the buttons, slid out the button assemblies and removed the orings from the housing with an o-ring pick.
The button assemblies were then covered with silcon grease, before being placed back into position in the housing. Pushing the buttons in the circlips were then pressed back on.
This step is critical, double check the circlip is back fully in position or the button will come out and the housing flood.
Flat back door, securing latch and mount placed back in position.
Hopefully good enough for a few hundred more dives.
