Stage / Deco Leash
We have recently been doing a lot of diving using a DPV scooter which requires wearing all stage / deco cylinders on the left hand side. We found that at times this get rather cluttered so we looked for solution in a Stage / Deco Leash.
Oringinally invented by cave divers to transport stage cylinders in to caves for longer dives, a Stage / Deco Leash is clipped to the left D-ring next to the SPG and is generally the size of your hand so that stage / deco cylinders sit on your backside making carrying additional cylinders easier.
What are do you need to make one:-
Medium bolt snap
Old low pressure hose
Firstly carefully cut a length of low presure hose the with of your hand, then thread it on to the 4mm line (using washing up liquid makes this easier). Next thread the line through the bolt snap.
Next measure the loop against the lenth of your hand and cut it to size, close the loop using a square knot.
Finally, take some cave line (always plenty to come off a new reel) and whip the two loose ends / loop togther to make sure the leash is secure.
